The Chinese population is striving to find happiness and better their lives through the improvement of living conditions and economic development, which influences the looks of its cities. New policies were made to take down old buildings and to rebuild a new China with new architecture.
In this series of books, you will find the documentation of buildings already demolished. The cover of each book holds a photograph of Sinoghettos graffiti on these buildings. Written are two characters, meaning „Beautiful“ and „Dream“, which can be seen as totemic symbols inspired from traditional Chinese culture. Colors seen in Chinese Taoism are also used on the covers, holding symbolic and historical meaning. The materials were taken from furniture of the areas, bringing unique textures into this project. This is combined with industrial tape used in construction and found objects from the sights, like playing cards or drawings made by children and other artists. There are original drawings by Sinoghetto included in this book, combining his own psychological world and fascination of dreams with the surrounding environment.
