The BRUDERKUSS Wall Piece is a small handmade object from Berlin. It carries Dmitry Vrubel’s East Side Gallery mural, "My God, Help Me to Survive This Deadly Love", the one everybody calls the Bruderkuss.The kiss itself is the socialist fraternal kiss between Leonid Brezhnev and Erich Honecker, photographed in 1979 and painted onto the Berlin Wall eleven years later. It is the most photographed stretch of the gallery.At 17 centimetres it stands on a shelf or a desk without taking the place over.Sized for a shelf or a desk: 17 × 8 × 5.5 cm.Taken from the East Side Gallery mural, painted in 1990.Paint and print applied by hand; minor variations are part of the work.
